Akmal Saleh is an Egyptian born Australian comedic genius. Arriving in Australia in the mid 70's at the age of 11 and not speaking a word of English, Akmal flirted with a number of university degrees and even adhered to the ethnic stereotype of driving a taxi before trying his hand at stand up comedy.
His first show at the comedy store in Sydney was performed under the alias of Peter Saleh but it wasn't long until Akmal saw the true benefit of performing under his real title Akmal Saleh.
Saleh is the comedian who isn't backward in coming forward, never afraid to speak his mind or confront an issue that is taboo, his unapologetic style is a breath of fresh air, not to mention hilarious!
Akmal's talents have been well recognised outside the comedy scene where he has had stints in Radio, Television and the Movies. One of Akmal's greatest achievements was his role in the movie 'You Can't Stop The Murders'. Not only did he play a key role in front of the camera, he was also one of the co-writers.
He makes no secret that live stand up comedy is his true love. Since finishing his latest gig on radio, Akmal has returned to the comedy circuit where he continues to pack out venues across Australia. You can catch the genius of Akmal Saleh at every major comedy festival across Australia or if you can't wait that long, you can book him for your own corporate or sporting club comedy show.
